(Used in the Norwegian Lutheran Church)
1. Introduction
Leader:
Grace be with you and peace from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. |
Everything is sanctified by the Word of God and Prayer. This includes the home. The home is the good gift of God. We will now lay this house and those who are livinging her into into the hands of God and to his loving care, so that you can live here in peace and harmony. We are reminded of the Word of the Lord:
Matt 18,20 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.»
2. Reading from the Bible
Psalm 121,1-8
I lift up my eyes to the hills – where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. 3 He will not let your foot slip – he who watches over you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD watches over you – the LORD is your shade at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD will keep you from all harm – he will watch over your life; 8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

God our Father. We thank you for this home and we pray: Take this home into you care. You are full of mercy and full of power. Give those who liver herehealth and the ability to care for each other and to strengthen and encourage others. Be with them in the ups and downs of life. Encourage them, comfort them in sorrow and give them faith and trust, so that they receive every day with trust and happy expectations.
Let your love and peace characterize this home, so that all who visit it, will notice. Do not let any evil attach between them our wound them.
Bless this home, those who live here and those who go in and out.
Amen
Our Father who are in heaven
Hollowed be your name,
Your kingdom come
Let your will be done on earth as in heaven
Give us today our daily bread
Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us
Do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the honour for ever.
Amen
